How to build sustainable, affordable, liveable communities

Ontario needs 1.5 million new homes and it is easy to see how the rush to action can take precedence over questions like where to build, what designs to use, and how to make our new homes and communities sustainable and liveable.
Our Speakers:

  • Dan Leeming, co-founder of the Planning Partnership. Dan has worked on the design of communities throughout Ontario and the U.S. and will discuss how to design liveable communities.
  • John Ambrose is an engineer and investment advisor who has a deep interest in geothermal heating and cooling. John will discuss how we can build our new housing to be free of fossil fuels.
  • Victor Doyle was the lead planner of Ontario’s Greenbelt Plan and will discuss the hidden – and large – costs of sprawl housing.
